Aquatic Life in the Gulf

Cruising the Gulf of Mexico gives your mind time to wander as the gentle sea breezes caress you while on your way to a fishing spot that holds the promise of a big catch.

You can already picture the taut line and bent rod as the bait is grabbed, and the fish runs for freedom. The excitement is real, and it may be backed with questions of just what’s out there under the waves. What kind of aquatic life can you expect to encounter when deep-sea fishing near Dauphin Island with Irish Wake Fishing?

It’s an excellent question to which there are many answers. We’re not going to go into any fish tales about the ones that got away, although we have a few. We will tell you there are several species that our customers encounter and catch during a charter.

We find that our clientele is best served by targeting a few different types of plentiful fish. In that way, it’s very likely you won’t go home empty-handed. During our charters, we generally aim for speckled trout, tripletail, cobia, redfish, sheepshead, snapper, and flounder. You will find that these fish provide a challenge and plenty of excitement. We also occasionally hook into white trout, ground mullet, and even a pompano sometimes.

If that sounds like a recipe for fun fishing, then you’re right. Your adventure deep-sea fishing near Dauphin Island awaits you today.
